Siberia is a region of Russia very known for its freezing cold and the harshness of its winter climate which can overcome the most seasoned men. However despite a good -30 ° c, skiing can be incredibly good, especially at the start of the season (November and December). The Siberian powder is crystalline and cold, which is very pleasant to ski especially in the heart of beautiful forest.
But all these slopes are won at the cost of a few hours of sealskin walking, but stay assured you are not going to sweat too much with the cold temperatures!

Level required

This is a ski touring trip, you must be able to ski in all snow and all terrain downhill on slopes at 35 ° / 40 ° max, carry your backpack from 8 to 10kg, and walk for 3 to 4 hours consecutively over 1000m of elevation.
On skis, being able to move at a rate of 300 to 400m / h on elevation differences between 400 and 600 meters. The slopes are of moderate level (red slope), adapted to the average level of the group. Participants are asked to have a mastery of piste skiing, to know how to evolve in all snow and more particularly in powder.

General overview

The Siberian powder is so light that one has the impression of sliding on crystal sugar, because of the cold snow is really incredible and ideal for beautiful descents in open clearings where the trees are like obstacles marking out the descent won at the cost of a few rare drops of sweat.
The region is austere but our hosts know how to welcome skiers who want to discover these small but vast mountains where the word wild takes on its full meaning.
After a good day in the cold you can enjoy the Russian bagnat, a kind of sauna contrasting with the local climate.

Program

  • Day 1

    Departure from Geneva Airport (or Other depending on your origin). Meet the guides. Transfer to Moscow then Akaban. Overnight in Akaban City.

  • Day 2

    Transfer to Biskamzha, train to Luzhba, Arrival in Luzhba in the afternoon to discover the Lodge and the spot for the ski week. Short ski tour to discover the surroundings before dark.

  • Day 3-8

    Skiing in the Siberian forests or wide clearings allows skiing in deep powder snow very light and stable. We chain small slopes of 400 to 600m and can do several in the day.

  • Day 9 and 10

    Departure early in the morning from Luzhba by train to Biskamzha then transfer to the hotel for Akaban city. Overnight in Hotel and departure for Moscow in the early morning, return to France.

Price per participant 10-8 days trip 3200 €

At any time, the guide reserves the right to modify or interrupt the program for meteorological or nivological reasons, because of insufficient technical or physical level of the participants, or for reasons related to security in the country. Price based on 6 participants for 1 guide.
