The Grande Cascade d'Angon is one of the most beautiful canyons on the shores of Lake Annecy. This torrent also called "Nant d'Oy" has its source in the Tournette mountain just above Talloires-Montmin.
Discover this spectacular canyon that starts with a large waterfall 40 meters high that we will descend to refresh us during the hot summer days.
The descent continues in the river which includes many jumps and slides, fun passages in natural pools dug by the living water of this torrent.
Strong sensations guaranteed for lovers of verticality or adrenaline.

Level required

You have already practiced Canyoning at least once and you can abseil in canyoning or climbing technique. You are not prone to dizziness or a phobia of water.
You are able to evolve for 3 to 4 hours on a rough course with small jumps to cross. No jump is mandatory.

General overview

Lush vegetation surrounding a peaceful river at the bottom of a vertiginous canyon, the great Angon waterfall is the “must” in terms of atmosphere and discovery for an outdoor activity on the shore of Lake Annecy.
True geological heritage, water has carved out over the years this natural aquatic park through which flows pure and limpid water.
If you want to be quiet in this canyon, I recommend that you leave early in the morning, or at the end of the day to finish by the lake as an aperitif, this will allow you to avoid peak hours and overcrowding in summer .
In the canyon, we take the time to swim in the basins and admire this gift of nature.

Program

  • Half day canyoning in Angon

    The starting point and meeting point is at the grassy municipal car park (RD 909A) opposite the Angon beach.
    We equip ourselves with a neoprene suit with a thickness of 5.5 mm, thermal socks, a helmet and a harness for the descent into the canyon.
    We take from Angon, the path of the waterfall which leads us in 40 minutes to the starting point of our vertical adventure, “the bridge”.
    After a briefing on the safety instructions and a reminder of the techniques to be used, we start the descent with 1 large abseiling 40 meters high, then another in “spider thread” of 22 meters.
    Depending on your level you will descend independently.
    The continuous route in the canyon to the rhythm of many jumps and slides in basins, until the passage of the “Mailbox”, rock under which we pass to jump into a very steep slide. one of the most beautiful passage.
    The continuation of the canyon is rather easy for the continuation with other recall of average height (12m to 18m) that we can do on the buttocks in slide or in classic technique.
    We leave the canyon by a short steep ascent (often muddy) equipped with a lifeline to finish on the approach path, then the parking lot where we leave our equipment.
    Depending on the time, it is possible to have a “Brunch” or “Aperitif” at the restaurant Le Saravah on Angon beach.

Fixed price. Supervision by a guide up to 6 participants, a 2nd guide beyond the 6 th participant. Children from 12 years old accompanied by one of the parents. Reservation on request.
